FAQs
How do I know if Verifiero is for me?
Verifiero is for anyone who wants to know who they’re dealing with, online or in person, without giving away more about themselves than necessary.
How does Verifiero protect my personal data and privacy?
When your personal data is not in use on your device, it is stored in our backend, which is protected by several security mechanisms. When data is transferred it is encrypted with established standard algorithms.
You choose when to share personal data, and nothing is shared unless you approve it.
Who can see my information? Can I control what is shared?
On your device, your details are shown only to you, when you use a function that needs them.
You choose when and which personal data is shared with other users. Either you select which details to share, or you approve or decline a request from another Verifiero user, online or in person.
Does it work on all phones?
The app works on both iOS and Android.
The app requires iOS 13.0 or later, or Android 5.0 or later.
Why isn’t my ID working?
When you register, you scan your ID document (passport, ID card or driver’s licence). The check is thorough because forged IDs must be detected, so valid IDs are sometimes rejected too. Follow the instructions in the app and take your time: good light helps, place the ID on a clear surface and avoid reflections.
Sometimes you need to scan your ID a few times before it is accepted.
Is Verifiero compliant with data protection laws (such as GDPR)?
We process personal data in accordance with GDPR, as described in our privacy policy. You choose which details are shared with others.
Is Verifiero free to use? Are there any hidden fees?
For you as a user, Verifiero is free to download and to register with ID and face recognition. For now it is also free to use online, in person and between two users. There are no hidden fees.
How do you know an ID is genuine?
When you register, the ID is scanned and checked with a service from a trusted provider. Several checks are made to detect false and fabricated IDs.
Why do I need to use an alias when sharing?
The alias protects your privacy before you share information with another user. You send your alias to the other person through the channel where you are already in contact, so you don’t have to share your email or phone number with a stranger.
Will you share my information with others?
Once you have registered, we don’t share your data with anyone without your consent. We ask every time and show which data is shared with which company, for example when you log in or verify yourself somewhere. In the app you can see your sharing history under My pages, so you have an overview of what you have shared through Verifiero.
You may wonder: “What if Verifiero changes its privacy policy and starts selling my data?” It’s a fair question. If we ever change how we handle data, we will say so clearly, and existing users will get a proper chance to delete their data and account before anything is shared or sold.
